I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Hightail in Apr 2013
Interview
I had two phone calls with the VP of Engineering to learn more about what the company did and what the position was for. Then was brought into the office for an on-site for about 4 hours. Lunch was included with the team that I was to join.

Question 1
There were some very high level questions about my philosophical beliefs on organization and orchestration.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Hightail (Campbell, CA)
Interview
This is really a great company, it's a hidden gem in Silicon Valley.
The technology is new and relevant. The people that work there are smart and friendly. It's profitable. Exec management seems to know how to manage money, instead of accumulating mountains of debt/VC money and spending it on advertising, they're more careful about how they spend.
The perks are great... free drinks (beyond soda), and snacks. Nice yuppi location if you have a family. Other perks.
Also, it's a fairly engineering-driven company... the PM said "Everybody is a PM here" ... meaning everybody influences the products' direction.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They basically asked "google interview" questions... code an algorithm on the white board. They also asked Qs about cultural fit, how to make the product better, etc.
