I was contacted by a Hill-Rom HR person about this position, based on an employee referring me. First phone interview consisted of the HR interviewee asking me to "walk through" my resume. No problem. I was told I was well qualified for position and was scheduled another interview with the hiring manager.
On this next phone interview with a Manager (based in the Batesville, IN offices) , I was grilled primarily on who I knew in the industry - no focus whatsoever on professional accomplishments. Apparently, I didn't know enough of the "right people" and that was the end of that interview excercise. Takeaway: it's not what you know - it's who you know that matters most to these folks.
