STAR method was explained at the beginning and with some clarifications during the interview so that expectations were very clear. Though I felt 'grilled' I was not exhausted. The technical interview stage was difficult to follow - not due to the technical content, but because of how it was conducted. The example scenarios felt haphazardly constructed and were often abandoned mid-way to shift focus to a different topic of interest. While both interviewers spoke English, there was a noticeable sense of discomfort when I expressed a preference to be interviewed in English instead. One particularly awkward moment occurred when one interviewer attempted a joke that didn’t land well with the other. They paused the interview to briefly discuss it among themselves before diving into yet another puzzling scenario for me to navigate. Not a fun or interesting interview.
