      Programmer Interview

      4 Nov 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Las Vegas, NV
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Holiday Systems (Las Vegas, NV) in Nov 2016

      Interview

First step was a phone screen with HR, then with the hiring manager. Next they had me come in for an interview and testing. All testing was done on their computers. They said it was standard testing that everyone had to complete. It wasn't difficult, just time consuming. It took me about an hour to an hour and a half to finish the testing section. There was about 4 test sections - Writing - Math (Basic questions - no calculator) - Attention to Detail - Retention The writing section consisted of reading a letter and composing a response letter. It has to be a persuasive letter to get a customer to buy a travel package. They provide all travel information. Math section was very easy and consisted of basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, divide, multiply). There wasn't anything crazy like fractions. There were a couple percent questions but nothing that would be difficult to figure out with a pen and paper (which they give you). Attention to detail test consisted of comparing two lists and marking which were different. Retention was mainly reading passages and answering questions about it. You can't go back to reread so write the important dates, places and names down on the scratch paper they give you. After I finished the testing section, they had me meet with the hiring manager. He asked me standard questions and went over things we discussed in the phone interview. I then had to do a coding test that was very easy.
