Interview
The interview with Holy Family University was good, I applied for a job by sending my resume and Cover Letter to HR by e-mail. I received a phone call from Kathleen Barkus from HR to schedule an interview. After we scheduled the interview she sent me an email with an application to fill out, a university map, and a parking pass. When I arrived at HR she took my application and contacted Justin whom I was going to interview with. We went upstairs to a conference room and waited for Dr. Ann Marie Vickery who was interviewing me as well. Once she arrived we started our interview. It probably lasted for 45 minutes when we finished she asked if I knew how to get back to my car and I showed myself out. She informed me I would be contacted in about a week and if I would be moving on I would be invited back to campus for an interview with the President and Vice President. I did receive a call a week later to see if I could come back for an interview with Brian Minster who I was originally supposed to interview with but was not in on the day I came due to a family issue. I went in and met with him and some other people from the office I would be working with. I again showed myself out, 4 days later I recorded a call from HR and email that they'd like me to come to an interview with the President and Vice President. I had to wait about 3 weeks for that interview because the University closes for 2 weeks at Christmas. When I arrived for my final interview I went directly to the President's Office, and while writing for my interview Brian (my future supervisor became over to say hello. This interview lasted about 30 minutes and I showed myself out. A week later I received an offer of employment which I accepted. The last couple of days before I started I did have to complete paperwork for a Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance and get Fingerprinted for a Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal History Background Check. All in all the process was pretty good and not too difficult.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Holy Family University (Philadelphia, PA) in June 2011
Interview
First, the Dean telephoned me and asked me about my education, teaching experience and availability. Then, I met the Dean at the University and discussed the course, students, textbook, and lab facilities. A colleague who taught at this University gave my name and contact information to the Dean.
