I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Honeywell (Hyderābād) in Sept 2016
Interview
I got a call from Honeywell HR for attending interview on Saturday. I have been working in a reputed product based company for last 6 years in cloud technology and looking for senior level technical position. I clearly specified the HR that I will be interested with very high technical leadership position only and my salary expectation will be above 26 lacs. She told that will be fine and jobs will be challenging and it is a senior technical role. After got the info I went to Honeywell Hyderabad office at 9:30 am in the morning. Interview was scheduled at 10 am. But nobody was available. Security told me to go to level 3. There I haven't find anybody. There was no sitting place. No water, no restrooms. I was just waiting for long times, called contact person for 3 times. But no answer. After 45 minutes HR came and ask me to sit in a interview room. After 30 minute one interviewer came. In between I requested multiple times for drinking water. But nobody provided. It is very unprofessional for not providing candidate drinking water, restroom access and on top of that there is a delay of 1 hour and nobody there to inform me.
The interviewer is extremely unprofessional. I think in Honeywell HR doesn't provide any basic ethics/ rules about conducting any interview. The interviewer asks about my salary (I think he just want to check if he is getting that much/ this is totally unprofessional to ask if u r not hiring manager or HR), multiple times his phone was ringing, he is in call multiple times, shouting some other person in the call, busy in texting Facebook and whatsapp message. This is very basic etiquette that he should silent his mobile, listen carefully what I am giving answer, than busy in cell phone.
On top of that the interview was for a very senior technical position, but almost all the questions were for freshers like what is Abstraction/ polymorphism etc. In a data structure problem, I answered that the problem can be solved in 'tail recursive' function than normal recursive function. Interviewer suddenly surprised the term 'tail recursive' function. Looks like he never heard about that. This show technical depth and basic knowledge about the interviewer.
At the end of the interview, I just walk away from the Honeywell office without waiting for feedback or any further discussion. Because I feel this is not the correct place to work and I just wasted my time. In between I have been going through interview process with multiple top level product based company, and I saw how carefully they evaluate candidate, how professional they are. I also have 2 offer from top 2 product based company with offer 30 lacs +.
