There were a few rounds of interviews with different team members and then a final presentation with two senior team members where the prompt was to present a previous customer engagement
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Hopin in May 2021
Interview
This is a much due review of an interview process I’ve come across. I was referred to Hopin for CS position which I completely nailed in every round they had. First few rounds went off very fast. The communication with the Hr, team members, CS leads were very well organised time wise but they all asked the same questions in every round with an additional new question.
However, at the end of the final decision (3 weeks after), I had to constantly follow up with the HR team on update. This carried on for 3 months. What kind of interview takes so long just to decide on something and keep the candidate hanging. It was a traumatic experience for me. Mentally disturbing because I had no certainty.
At last, after 3 months, I get an email for a video call with an offer. But on the call, they wanted me to do night hours which was not agreed upon in the beginning. Nonetheless, with all due respect and with all politeness, I declined the offer that had great compensation just because of the experience.
Looking back at it, I think I made the right decision as the company made 2 rounds of massive layoffs. My heart goes out to all talented employees that were let go.
