      Revenue Data Analyst Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Hopper in May 2026

      Interview

A recruiter reached out weeks after I had initially applied for the role. They were personable and enthusiastic, and I was moved to the HM round the next day. The Hiring Manager call was pretty standard, and they were upfront at they end that they will move me to the next round which was the SQL live assessment. The questions they gave were pretty standard, but I messed up the syntax for a typical window function which made them feel unsure about my SQL skills, so they asked that I do a take home assessment to further test my technical skills that will be reviewed with someone on the team in a call. I agreed, but the take home wasn't even SQL related and I was under the impression that it would be since they said they felt unsure in that area. I was given the option to produce a write up at the end or presentation, I opted for the write up. After I submitted the assignment, the call to go over it was swiftly scheduled. Now that I've looked at other glassdoor reviews, I shouldn't have been surprised that the structure of the call went completely opposite from my expectations. I was under the impression we would go over the write up I produced and answer any questions, but the call was basically a whole new live business case assessment with the same dataset and the interviewer asking for new calculations on the spot. After this half round, there is supposed to be another call with a partner team and then meeting a co-founder but I'm pretty sure they're going to reject me with how that last round went.
