I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Horwitz, Horwitz & Associates (Chicago, IL) in Jan 2016
Interview
Meeting with head partner, head of HR, accountant, and a tour of the office. Standard interview fare, everything was very casual and laid back. Overall, not too difficult, I could tell they already had a good impression of me
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Horwitz, Horwitz & Associates (Chicago, IL) in July 2017
Interview
Very unprofessional and rude. The CFO was not wearing shoes and looked like she hadn't showered for a week when she finally greeted me, 10 minutes late. One of the managing partners argued and scolded the CFO in front of me. The other managing partner was 45 minutes late to the interview. No one who interviewed me had bothered to read my resume prior to the interview. They asked the same questions over and over again, and were not friendly. The partner sent me to another woman who works in the office to "interview" - she cussed up a storm and went on and on about her personal life for 20 minutes, never asking me a relevant interview question, and actually asked if I was married with children. They do not have any clue as to HR or employment law protocol. It was the most unprofessional and rude interview process of my life. They say they are "laid back" but this office is beyond laid back. They dress as if they are doing laundry and cleaning the house. The office is a mess. It ends up that they didn't even have a real job opening. They told me they are "not desperate" but went on to insult and degrade the current office manager who they clearly did not like. Very negative dysfunctional culture of distrust and disorganization overall. The one managing partner said he wanted to hire me, they called my references. The other managing partner who only seemed to care if I was married or not seems to live to disagree and argue with the other managing partner. Toxic environment. Do not waste your time.
