I applied in-person. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Hudson Valley Lighting Group (Wappingers Falls, NY) in June 2024
Interview
The interview was surprisingly casual, given the salary level and intensity of the position. Interviewer was interested primarily in past work experience: was curious about my background in general, but seemed to be most interested in finding someone who had previously done the exact same job for a competitor.

Question 1
Do you feel like you could keep up with a workflow of 700 SKUs per year in our preferred software package? Have you done this before for products in our industry?
I applied online. I interviewed at Hudson Valley Lighting Group
Interview
Was interviewed twice by two different people. First time the position was put on hold. Job opened up again a couple of months later, second interviewer was not aware of previous interview. The process seemed disjointed, disorganized and at the end I didn't even receive a courtesy email that they decided to go with a different candidate.

Describe how you stay current on most recent rules and regulations.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Hudson Valley Lighting Group (New York, NY)
Interview
A recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn. We had an hour-long conversation about my fit for the role. A week later, I spoke with the VP of Product and had a great conversation. I had another interview with the CD and discussed my experience and portfolio, which was not tailored to HVL, causing me to defend my work. Two weeks later, I received a text from the recruiter that I was not a fit, and I was livid. Do not waste your time with these recruiters because the last person can point to a random flaw in your portfolio and waste your two months of interviews.
