I applied online. I interviewed at Human8 in June 2026
Interview
I was invited for a 30 minute interview with 'Global Talent Acquisition'. The person I spoke to turned up late and couldn't have been less interested in speaking with me. She didn't give me any upfront information about the role or the company. She couldn't answer my questions about company culture and was very evasive about benefits and salary package. I was told I would hear back within a week, but unsurprisingly I didn't hear anything further from them. Overall a very unprofessional and underwhelming experience.
I applied online. I interviewed at Human8 (Johannesburg) in May 2026
Interview
I applied online and received an invitation for an introductory call with the recruiter on the same day. Following the recruiter call, I was informed within the same week that I would be progressing to the next stage and received an invitation to interview with the hiring managers the following week.
After the initial interview, I was notified that I had successfully progressed and was advised that a case study would be sent within the next 2-3 weeks. I subsequently received the case study and was given approximately one week to complete it. The final stage consisted of an in-person interview, during which I presented my case study.
I received an offer the week following the final interview. The overall process took just under two months from application to offer. While it was a relatively lengthy process, this was communicated from the outset and I was kept updated throughout, which made the experience feel transparent and well managed.
Everyone I interacted with during the process was friendly, professional, and welcoming. The interviews felt like genuine conversations rather than interrogations, and I felt comfortable throughout the process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell us about yourself and your experience.
What industry would you least like to work with?
The questions felt tailored to my background, experience, and the role rather than being generic interview questions. It was clear that the interviewers had taken the time to review my CV beforehand, which made the discussions feel more natural and conversational.
This was a scheduled 30-minute HR Interview. It was quite general with little to no questions asked. The tone of the interview felt a little negative, There was little interest demonstrated in a real conversation to align my background to the company, and no interest in engaging in my questions related to aligning the company and the role to me. I disengaged after a couple of questions. I never heard back, despite a promise I would hear within a week, which was ok with me.
