After the initial application submission (portfolio, resume, a few writing prompts), selected candidates would attend a full-day on-site interview. After the on-site, some candidates were followed up by a zoom interview afterward with design leads.

Question 1
It was more like a workshop. Very fun!! There was a prompt for candidates to create a design response prior to attending the interview.
I applied in-person. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at IDEO (Munich, Bavaria) in Mar 2016
Interview
I had three rounds of interviews in total, first one was more of an introduction, then I met two of the people I would work directly with and last one was with one of the directors.
We went through my portfolio twice and discussed my previous experiences, my potential role in the company and the company structure. The whole process was quite long but everyone I met was very friendly and gave me honest feedback as to why I didn’t get the job in the end, which I was grateful for.

Question 1
Classic strength/weakness/passions type of questions
It was very interesting and fun. Challenging at every level. I would say that while it was long, it was extremely meaningful and helped me better understand myself and my goals as a Designer.

“What are two of the best qualities you feel that a Designer should have?”
