Interview
The hiring process started with a brief phone interview about my education background and skills. The face-to-face interview was scheduled during the phone interview. I was interviewed by 3 individuals, basically asked the same questions that were asked during phone interview. Overall the process was smooth and the interviews went well.

Interview
I applied through ZipRecruiter. My application was received with a request for a phone screening. The phone screen was about thirty minutes long, was fairly relaxed, and the interviewer asked standard questions about my background. After the phone screen, I was asked to come in for an in person interview.
First, let me just say that IMG is located in the dark and somewhat gloomy basement of the Department of Energy, which is disheartening. There were three interviewers in the room, and they told me as soon as we were seated that (surprise!) I'd be interviewing for two positions, which they had failed to mention until I was literally in the chair.
The interview was a constant bombardment of questions from all three people. Each person had a long list of questions that they wanted to ask, and as soon as I'd answered one question, I'd immediately be asked another. No water was offered. Generally I would not expect water, but when you're asked to speak for an hour straight, I think that it should certainly be offered.
I left the room with a hard deadline of when IMG planned to make a decision and get back to me. They missed their deadline. I emailed IMG politely asking for an update, and received a curt and rather rude response saying that no updates or timelines were available.
Several days later, I received a standard rejection email.
Overall, an unpleasant atmosphere and an unpleasant experience. Would not recommend wasting your time applying here.

Question 1
What do you know about energy? What have you read in the news lately about it?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at IMG-Crown (Washington, DC) in Aug 2014
Interview
Generic interview questions since they train you on the survey you ultimately work on. For programmers, the interview process is a little more strenuous. I interviewed with my future boss and his boss. My boss didn't have a clue what he was doing and asked me questions off of a sheet he had just printed out. He was demoted about 6 months after the interview.
