INDEX Media interview questions

The interview process was hard, but mostly fine. Two rounds of interviews with an extensive assesment task between them. The assesment was quite demanding, and beyond the scope of the job description, but I finished it, and they were impressed by it. The second interview was for the CEO approval, which I got and minutes after leaving I got the call that the job is mine and an offer is coming right away. The HR sent me a simple aptitude test (do you think theft is bad and whatnot), and they asked for references from past employers. All was going great then the HR employee suddenly went on vacation without notice. I reached out to one of her colleague, but no explanation or anything, just a run-of-the-mill email of "we decided not to go through with your application. This was quite frustrating as I rejected an offer from another company while waiting for them to finalize my contract. All in all, very disappointing and quite disrespectful.
