      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at ITW

      Interview

Very professional organization and people. Attention to detail - scheduling, etc. Good questions, mostly behavioral. Be prepared to dig deep into relevant past experiences. A conversational tone most of the time - very pleasant. Timely feedback. They know what they are looking for. Process speed about the same as other larger organizations - on the slow side.

      Question 1

Behavioral questions - tell me a time when... Designed to uncover work habits that are likely to be repeated.

      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at ITW

      Interview

During COVID, I talked to 4 different people for 2-3 times each, ending up with something like 7 interviews, video or in person. When I got through this to an in-person interview, they informed me at the beginning that there would be another additional round, with the same people yet again. They told me this at the beginning and think this broke my spirit. They were probably being "COVID-careful" with their resources, but I later told this to a career coach I had at the time and she laughed and agreed it was ridiculous, as I was not a manager level hire or even doing tasks that would be particularly specialized. Good for them for being able to spend the resources to find the perfect candidate, but I wonder if they just did not actually want to hire. Back to the interview---I admitted I didn' t know the answer to a question, and the interviewer (who would have been my boss, who I did NOT get along with) seemed shocked someone would do so. I said I'd look something up, and he indicated surprise people would do something like that. He then very obviously started instant messaging other team members who were sitting right outside. This led me to check out mentally more so, and it continued to slide downhill. As we finished and he led me out, the team members sitting outside giggled to him and looked at me like I was a side-show, while maintaining a fake air of respectfulness. I very much did not want to work there. It portrayed a very catty, highly perfectionist atmosphere that I would not have enjoyed. If you are someone who speaks straightforwardly, truthfully, and admits fault, go elsewhere. I received an offer elsewhere and was very proud to be able to tell their human resources that I was no longer interested.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Very thorough questions on examples of when you did XYZ, technical questions on SEO, websites, marketing materials, etc. etc. But they were so exacting and wouldn't accept that my story was finished and may have sufficed to meet their needs that anyone would have become frustrated with their hen-pecking nature. I basically felt like I was being "And then"-ed to death, which shows a lack of respect or ability to be satisficed.
