I submitted my resume through my school's career services office when I was a 2L. There was no phone interview first, I was just called in for an in-person interview. The interview itself was low stress and I received a call with an offer within a week. Now that I work there and have seen more people interviewed, it seems like most interviewees are screened via their resume first and the interview process is more a test of interpersonal skills. If you get the call and you're fairly socially adept, you have a good shot at an offer.
