      Marketing Coordinator Interview

      30 June 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Lombard, IL
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Imminent (Lombard, IL) in June 2022

      Interview

They reached out to me saying they liked my resume, I couldn't find the job application I sent them but figured since they claimed to be a marketing agency that it'd be worth a try. Well, they sent me a Zoom link and I found myself within a group interview: an immediate red flag. My suspicions were confirmed when the overly-peppy interviewer described Imminent in the vaguest terms, that they work with big companies like "Costco" and that they provide "event marketing". In these types of interviews, Imminent relies on gullible people who don't realize what the job is ACTUALLY about is standing in a Costco for 12 hrs and annoying people who walk by. Towards the end, the lady asked if this was "an opportunity I'd be interested in". Like, no???? How are you going to claim you "liked my resume" then offer me a minimum-effort scam job that has nothing to do with my background. I'm so tired of these scam pyramid schemes popping up and wasting my time. For more information about these types of organizations (they're EVERYWHERE), look up the 2018 documentary "The Slave Circle". Just take a look at the other reviews, Imminent's overly-defensive responses to honest reviews on this site says it all.

Hello, we appreciate your feedback! We completely understand the importance of the interview process and each candidate should receive the full attention and respect of the interviewer and vice versa. We are sorry to hear that you felt misled by the marketing position offered. We do conduct both sales and marketing activities. Since these activities are often intertwined it can be confusing to job seekers. As you mentioned, we inform all candidates that they will be required to learn our direct strategies during their brand ambassador training. We have a unique business model, but we are proud of that. Instead of taking 10 years to grow into a management position at our firm, it can take one. Obviously, this is not traditional, but it does not fit the criteria of a pyramid scheme. Again, we apologize that our career opportunities did not align with your professional goals. Thank you for the time you invested in your application. We wish you the best of luck in your job search.

      Marketing Coordinator Interview

      26 June 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Lombard, IL
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Imminent (Lombard, IL) in Apr 2023

      Interview

There were 3 rounds of interviews for a job title that I still don't know what it was to this day, I put Marketing Coordinator as a placeholder. Each interview was run by a different person who claimed they were the hiring manager so I'm not sure who actually makes the decision. They all mentioned the process that everyone goes through from starting a manager training program and then working your way up to a Marketing Manager. I mentioned how I didn't want a sales job, all 3 of the hiring managers told me it wasn't and then proceeded to talk about how sales is a big part of your role. They told me normal work days are 8 hours but they flex so if you have to work til 7, you don't have to start until 11am, which other reviews say otherwise. I asked about starting salary and they said you start at a base of $550 per week and then work your way up to $1,000 per week after a few months before becoming a Marketing Manager that starts at $75,000, so the pay jump is pretty significant if you make it through the program apparently. You scheduled a next interview during the one you're in, so it definitely felt more that they are just trying to get people in the door and start working rather than finding good fits, which tells me the turnover rate is astronomical. I'm not sure who could possibly live off the starting salary unless you just got out of college and you're looking to get your foot in the door while living with your parents. They seem like nice people and all, but it felt like they weren't telling me the whole story about who they were and what the company was about throughout the process. My advice is find something else unless you absolutely need a paycheck, because between the good reviews from only current employees and bad reviews from only former employees, not much adds up about them. There's a reason there are so many bad reviews.
