I was interviewed by 3 female panelists via zoom. It was one of the worst interviews I have ever been apart of. They asked basic interview questions and some specific to the job. At one point, it got overly hostile when one panelist asked a question and anticipated a specific response. All three later chimed in with various rephrasing of the same unclear question until the desired response was achieved. It was stated that the amount of hostility and aggression in the interview was to ensure they’re looking at a candidate that can handle pressure. Also one who truly knows the population and barriers they face, enough to effectively advocate for their clients when interacting with community providers. The end of the interview was a time for questions, where once again I was faced with hostility and aggression for asking hard questions. For example, the amount of turnover the job sees. Although I was also thanked for them!? I am both LGBT and a POC, I am an educated young woman, and although over qualified the panelists made me feel stupid and unsuitable for the job. Word of advice, this interview style is not how you get and keep good candidates that genuinely care for underrepresented populations this company states it supports.
