I was contacted by the Incedo HR. The recruitment drive was in Bangalore, but the positions were for Pune location.
I wasn't kept waiting and was immediately went through 2 rounds of technical discussion followed by one managerial round where the manager seemed to very impressed. I was asked to wait for a while and had a very small 5 minutes of HR round where I was asked my CTC expectation and some questions if I am good to relocate or not(which I obviously was). Then I was let go for the day.
Next working day, I get a call from Incedo Gurgaon HR about the CTC they they are offereing and we negotiated to a final figure.
After 2-3 days, I got a call from another HR to submit my documents that she asked over the email, which I did the same day.
Then came the frustrating process of Incedo ghosting me. I tried to follow up over the email, no response. Tried calling the Gurgaon HR, no response. After 2 weeks or so, I got a call from Pune HR and she was surprised to know that I haven't received any offer letter by then. She also told that my name is in the joinee list for the Pune office. She told something might be wrong and she would get that rectified.
I waited for 3-4 more days and then I called the Pune HR, because Gurgaon HRs have ghosted me all these days. The Pune HR told me that I would receive the offer letter by the next week, and there were some issues related to cost and stuff(I didn't really get it, but it looked like an internal matter, and I didn't feel good to dig deeper). It gave me a small hope and I started to look for areas in Pune for an accommodation. But no, there is more to this plight. Next week passes, and I started getting impatient, so I called her back on a business day and got to know that she was on leave so she couldn't check on my case. She asked for more time which I obviously agreed to beacuse had no choice.
The same day, I tried calling the Gurgaon HR, and this time she picked up the phone, told her the entire incident and then she says, "Oh you, yes. So, the position you were being hired for is no more available. So, we will tell you when it's back".
Wow, seriously Incedo?? So much of Human resources and hiring. Very professional, isn't it? More than a month of keeping me on wait and then telling the position is no more.
Please grow a little professionalism while you hire some candidate. There are hopes linked and if you feel there is nothing can be done, please be answerable and maybe just email (if not call) that the candidature of the person you hired is no more due to xyz reasons. One polite proactive email won't do any bad.
