      Account Executive Interview

      16 June 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Indeed (Austin, TX) in June 2019

      Interview

Four back to back 30-minute interviews with Director level Sales guys. And let's be clear, this place is *brotastic*. The first two interviews were fine, but they all asked the same questions, which was a little strange. Are you comparing my answers? It seemed like an interrogation more than an interview. The third interviewer was straight up hostile. Every response I gave elicited a grunt of recognition. When he wasn't mono-syllabic, he was condescending. After that experience, he stepped out of the room, and then it was time for my mock call. I was thrown by his behavior already, but I was told the Senior VP would be making the mock call with me. It was the third guy. And to be fair to him, if it was an exercise to see how I performed under pressure, I didn't do well. After that call, the Senior VP did come into talk to me. At that point, I assume they had made up their minds since he spoke to me for about 5 minutes and then walked me to the elevator. Bottom line, this is a tough interview. Be sure you want to make 100+ calls a day in a very critical environment. My recruiter told me to "study up" and learn about the company. I probably shouldn't have focused so much on that, and worked more on the cold call.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Indeed (Singapore) in Feb 2026

      Interview

The recruiter was based in Bangalore, India. At the start of the interview, he read through the job scope directly from his screen. He spoke very fast with a strong accent, which made it difficult for me to fully understand. After reviewing the role, he asked questions related to the sales process, motivation, strengths, sales targets, handling difficult customers, availability, and salary expectations. I asked for clarification more than once and answered the questions based on my understanding. The interview felt very transactional, with limited interaction beyond the scripted questions. Just some feedback, I feel I would have been able to respond more effectively if the questions were shorter and more direct. Some of the questions were quite lengthy. I have no issue with different accents, but speaking slower and clearer pace of speech would have improved comprehension.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Indeed (New York, NY) in Dec 2025

      Interview

Fast paced but thorough. Was able to finish the process within 3-4 weeks. Fully remote and interviewed with several directors. The process felt personable and the directors took time to make sure that it was a good fit for me as well.

      Interview

Just a phone screen. It was clear the recruiter didn't fully read/misread my resume when she got on the call as I could hear her having her "oh oops" moment. Haven't heard since. At least she was candid that they don't promise any feedback or communication as a policy.
