I visited Indiana Tech in March 2024 for an on-campus interview. The process required travel and a good amount of preparation, including giving a presentation. Like others, I spent time away from teaching and family to attend. After the visit, I was informed by email that the position was being postponed until the next academic year. The message was respectful, but the timing was difficult, especially after the effort involved in traveling and preparing. It would be helpful if institutions could share early on whether a position is confirmed and fully moving forward. This would make the process smoother for everyone involved.
