I was told there would be multiple interviews, up to 6. The first interview went extremely well, This was with the CFO and he asked very thoughtful and strategic questions. Then it went down hill. Next was the CIO- It was more like he was telling me what I was doing in my current role, then actually listening to what I would say. The questions he did ask were so non-sensical; What version of SQL are you using, what version of Python/ Tableau? When I noted that we use tableau server and deploy to it he asked for the specific version we were on... These aren't questions that matter at all or show how qualified you are. He also had a very narrow lane for the answers he wanted. It felt like he didn't want to be there and he wanted to show how smart he was while constantly noting his credentials as a previous PayPal employee. Not sure if there were politics involved in the shuffling of roles, but this guy shouldn't interview anyone.
After our interview the recruiter followed up for feedback multiple times and they just ignored the recruiter. It's a very small company and they seem to have an extremely narrow lane in which they want someone to operate.
