The interview was set up by the HR but the CEO was late. The CEO also did not provide any chance for me to speak on my skills or experience. Instead the CEO just spoke on what his views were on journalism, today’s generation, work ethic and then shifted to playing down my 2 decades plus of experience. The intent seemed to be to gaslight me and make me accept a low ball offer. I wasn’t prepared for this onslaught so any other interviewees would do well to first ensure they get to speak and ask questions before the CEO/Editor starts his monologue. I have 2 decades plus of experience but was informed, that I know nothing. That I will have to unlearn and relearn all the wrong things I have learnt over 2 decades under his 'visionary leadership', so we can fix journalism in India. I was ironically offered a job, but couldn't imagine working with such a toxic man.
