I interviewed at Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives (Indianapolis, IN)
Interview
It was very casual and friendly; could be described as a conversation more so than an interview. There was great energy, and the interview was very present in the interaction.
I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives (State College, PA) in Mar 2022
Interview
Started with a phone call to set up the interview via Teams. I didn't find out until the interview started that the position was with one of their subcontractors. Interview was very laid back as I was the only one with my webcam on, both other parties just used voice chat.
I had to drive most of the interview as they didn't have any questions lined up really and only vaguely described the job duties.
They were honest about the position at least which was that it would require 10.5 hr days, 6 days a week for the entire summer. You'd be in a hotel for the majority of the time, and they'd only provide pay to go home for a single trip. There was a pay stipend for being away tacked onto your base salary. Base offered to me was $17/hr., stipend was about $1000/month.
Turned down the offer due to the extreme hours required as I have a family. Seemed like a decent company to work for if you were single and had freedom to be away for long periods.

Question 1
What work have you done that would help you in this role?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives (Indianapolis, IN) in July 2022
Interview
I was approached by recruiter for the company for a different position, the department head declined to interview looking for more experience. (totally fine). Recruiter sends resume to other departments, estimating picks me out to interview due to my background and short experience estimating experience. They are looking for someone to assist, learn and grow in the position. Interviewed on Monday, on Wednesday recruiter states everything she is hearing positive will hopefully let me know by Friday. Don't hear anything I reach out after the weekend. She will have something Wednesday. Come Thursday morning, I am perfect fit, but they need someone to contribute immediately. Total 180 from what was said during interview. Recruiter even stated on Friday after interview she thought it was a done deal, then complete turn around on Wednesday evening. They don't value peoples time nor are they organized enough to know what they need or don't need.
