Made it past the *paid* test assignment round to 2nd to last interview. Very good communication, straightforward realtime feedback (in the interview), so when rejection came through it was polite but not unexpected. The biggest positive character reflection is that they paid for the test assignment. Receiving payment was easy and seamless, used an ACH with my bank. Disappointed to not get the job of course, but would definitely stay in touch and interview again.
