1:1 call with HR, followed by 1:1 call with potential manager, followed by team call. In the team call there was a presentation of a past work project which interviewee could choose based on a prompt. All remote.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Inkling (New York, NY) in Nov 2022
Interview
First call was with the recruiter. Then a call with a Solutions Engineer. I've never interviewed with a Solutions Engineer first, it's always been the hiring manager. I found that odd.
I passed that and before my interview with the hiring manager, I asked the recruiter directly would it be a problem if the role is in the southeast because I live in California. I was assured it wouldn't be a problem. The first words out of the hiring managers mouth was "were not offering relocation assistance and this role is in the Southeast.".
I was lied to by the recruiting team and they wasted my time. Also good luck with a company that only has less than 100 employees after being founded in 09. Seems like a slow sinking ship with no growth or market fit.
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Inkling in Dec 2021
Interview
Process was very thorough, informative, and efficient. Had about 6 rounds of interviewing for my role including a quick phone round with HR at the beginning, culminating in a quick chat with the CEO at the end. Inkling are very thorough with their candidates because they want to get the right fit for both the candidate and the company culture.
I definitely appreciated being kept in the loop by HR. Everything was done through Google Video call and everyone was very polite and friendly and really cared about getting the right person for the role.
