Okay, I was excited about this company. Their mission, product, and the wonderful reviews on glassdoor made it seem wonderful. I had a very disappointing experience regarding the recruiter and interview process, though.
Upon getting a screening scheduled about a week in advance, the recruiter had to reschedule last minute (literally 5 minutes before), twice. And seemed upset I couldn't drop everything and had to reschedule for another day.
Over a week goes by and I hear nothing. I reach out gently, and they tell me my screen yielded positive feedback and to set up an interview. Great! This interview was said to be 60 minutes long and panel style, with behavioral and technical questions mixed in. An estimated 5 engineers/team members would be interviewing me via teams.
The actual interview was two people with their screens off but with mine on. And they had similar positions, so the questions were mostly just technical. I suppose I should be thankful it was a relatively easy interview, but it goes both ways, and I wanted to learn more about the culture and be asked behavioral questions as well. With fewer people, the time did seem to drag on a bit - not surprising. But the interviewers were nice, and told me lots about the cool things they worked on. One thing to note - I inquired about how the 25% travelling requirement is / what that entails, and was told that actually, 200+ days on the road every year is very common. Hmm. I was also told that one interview is not typical - they both had four interviews, not the one the recruiter outlined. I understand there's a good bit of miscommunication there, but with possible start dates in August, that was a pretty close call, and I was an early interviewer.
Finally, over a week and a half after the date the recruiter said the latest they'd get back with interview results, I sent an email touching base - pretty exasperated with this process, but encouraged by the friendly interviewers and the interesting mission. It's been over two weeks now after the recruiter told me they'd get back. No word back. I have had my fair share of ghosting after, for example, applications - but this was my first taste of being completely ghosted after a full on screening and then interview. I would really implore this company to keep up with its positive reviews and respect your potential new employees' time in the process.
