Inovia interview questions

Step 1: was a phone call it only took about 10-15 minutes. She was extremely friendly at the end of the phone call it felt like I was on the phone with a friend. Step 2: was in person we went for coffee next to the office. They made me feel comfortable talking with them, which sold me on wanting to work at Inovia. Right off the back you get a family vibe and that they really care about you and what they do as a company. After I got a tour of the office space. The office was amazing real fun lively place with a spectacular roof top view of the city with a bench and a bbq to hang out at. Step 3: I talked a team member in Paris over facetime. That was about 10 minutes she was very nice. Again I got a fantastic impression about the company Step 4: They called me with my job offer! :)

A recruiter from Inovia reached out to me via email. She said she had found me online and wanted to talk. There were some red flags apparent from the start. She didn't describe what the company does (highly confusing, since there are several companies called Inovia out there), nor did she describe the skills she was looking for in an applicant. I assumed she would tell me more during our phone call. That did not happen. She started the phone call by asking me a series of semi-technical questions, which was jarring because (1) I had assumed based on my background that it would be a design role, and (2) there was already so little context for the position that it felt especially impersonal to suddenly be interrogated. I was not ready for the questions she threw at me, and the impromptu way in which she did this made me disinterested in continuing the conversation. Overall, I'm sure Inovia is a nice place, but the recruiter came off as someone who was (1) cold, and (2) uninterested in candidates as people. I suspect she scraped the Internet for anyone who seemed remotely viable as a candidate, and probably spends the same amount of time interviewing them as she did me (i.e. 5 minutes). It was a very unpleasant call, probably the worst I've experienced.
