The process was fast and initially well organized, and the role itself seemed like a strong opportunity that I was seriously considering. My interactions with the client were positive. However, my experience with the recruiter significantly impacted the process. The communication became unprofessional and, at times, demeaning, including being addressed as “hun” in a way that felt inappropriate in a professional setting. I was also told my actions were a “red flag” and “misleading” when I asked follow-up questions and revisited compensation after gaining a better understanding of the role. This is a normal part of the hiring process, and the response felt very inappropriate and dismissive. There was also pressure to make a quick decision without much room for clarification.
Ultimately, while the company and role were appealing, the recruiter’s communication style influenced my decision to move forward with another opportunity.
