Consistently infuriating experience with these recruiters. Their MO is as follows: they send an unsolicited message regarding an open role. They think you'd be a great fit. You respond saying you're interested and ask what the next steps are. They disappear. This has happened to me roughly 4 times each year since 2019. I don't have any reason to believe the jobs they're approaching people about are even real at this point.
When you look at these recruiters' work histories, you see that they're being plucked from dead-end jobs completely unrelated to tech recruiting (hair stylist, Zumba instructor) , so it's not altogether surprising that they cannot handle mid-career educated professionals. It's beyond me how they even source talent when the gatekeepers behave this way.
Pretty straightforward, basic hoops to jump thru. Executive panel at the end. No complaints, seems like a good company to work for. I have nothing else to add. Average difficulty overall!
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Insight Global in Oct 2024
Interview
Burned my references by speaking to them before I got a chance to meet with the hiring manager.
Told the process would move fast and went weeks without hearing back. 6 weeks overall process.
Told the role was for a Senior Product Manager and only included Product Manager in the calendar invites.
Thought I was interviewing with one person and another ended up being on the call.
Told would drop off 5 minutes into call and stayed on the full call with the interviewer.
No feedback provided at end of process other than hiring manager went with someone else.
Organized pointless calls with different recruiters, making it difficult to know who to contact during the process.
