A review of my Resume and past experience. I was given a schematic of a power circuit with various output voltages. I was asked what could be wrong if one voltage output circuit was not working, but two others were working correctly. I skimmed through the schematic and pointed out the various components that could be defective and cause the voltage output would not to be there. My eyeglasses need to be replaced so it took me a little while to completely review the schematic. So I did ok, but I was not as fast as I would like to have been to complete the review of the potential issues the circuit could have.
I was offered the job three days later. I was offered just above the minimum of the pay range for the TechII.
When I questioned that, but I was told I was being offered a Tech I position. Honestly, the job sounded interesting, but apparently, they want to pay a low wage for an experienced technician. Of course the HR rep said the company benefits would be worth an additional 35% in compensation. Being that the position requires travel 25% of the time, so it should pay more.
