I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Ironistic (New York, NY) in Mar 2021
Interview
I received an email from the HR department to have a virtual meeting since I'm applying to be fully remote. They asked me 2 questions and I asked them the following questions:
1. What policies you have in place to support work/life balance? – They answered that they have flexible hours, offer vacation time, and try to stick to a specific schedule.
2. What is the salary for the role? - They refused to answer because they wanted that to be disclosed at the offer stage and based on experience.
3. Is this job fully remote? - They offer full remote.
Because the tech scene has been one were if minorities don't have a range to begin with when applying to jobs we get underpaid very easily. This can happen regardless if the range is off from the standard, but knowing before going through phases helps a lot.
In order to not waste both of our times since tech interviews can be quite intensive I asked for the salary again and made it clear that this is a blocker for me. They gave me the range for the role that is from 65-95k and decided to not continue with the interview even doe it was in my range.
Please be mindful when seeking applicants specially minority groups that have been oppressed in tech. Without transparency on the interview process it can become a burden and lead to a waste of time for both parties.

Question 1
Are you authorized to work lawfully in the United States for Ironistic?
Will you now or in the future require Ironistic to commence (“sponsor”) an immigration case in order to employ you (for example, H-1B or other employment-based immigration case)? This is sometimes called “sponsorship” for an employment-based visa status.
