I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at J. Crew (New York, NY) in June 2014
Interview
It was a group interview all the way. I was ushered into their tiny break room with at least 12 other people and we were asked questions we could either choose to answer or not to. Of course, it worked to your benefit if you answered more and answered them well. We were then told to give our application to the regional manager who was there to ask us a few questions. I was offered a job in less than two weeks.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at J. Crew (Grand Prairie, TX)
Interview
Lovely interview with the then assistant manager. Just connect showing your bubbly personality and talk maturely about your former job experience.
It ran for about 30-35 mins yet felt as if time flew by due to great conversation.
Great retail job. Requires alot of connecting with customers, even styling them in the fit rooms. But also remember EVERYONES EXPERIENCE is different
the interview was entirely behavioral and very casual/conversational. mostly just how you would handle customer interactions and selling the credit card. i would highly recommend working there and interviewing. very similar to other retail interviews.

Question 1
how comfortable are you with selling a credit card at checkout and how would you go about it?
Easy, Basic Questions with the store manager. Just ask about previous experience and your availability. Why you want to work there. Met with the store manager and asked questions outside of the store.
