      Studio Associate Interview

      12 July 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Tukwila, WA
      Declined offer
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at JCP Portraits (Tukwila, WA)

      Interview

Applied online through Lifetouch photography's website (they provide photographers to JCP and several other studios) I received a call within an hour and the interview was scheduled that day. The interview and job seemed very focused on sales rather than photography. I didn't have experience in sales so the manager asked me to sell him his pen. A few other general questions. I received a call on monday (interview was on saturday) offering me the job, but I declined.

      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at JCP Portraits (Sterling Heights, MI) in June 2012

      Interview

I dropped my application off in person. 1 week later I got a call saying that the manager would like to interview me. She asked why I wanted to work there. How was I with children. How do you deal with a screaming child. What's your background in photography. What's my availability. The manager was kind and didn't ask hard questions. She said she had to do a background check but that if that came back clean then I had the job.

      Studio Associate Interview

      14 Aug 2011
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at JCP Portraits in June 2010

      Interview

I dropped off the application in person to the studio manager who reviewed it in front of me and scheduled the interview for later in the week. During the interview, the manager asked me about my photography experience, retail experience and if I had experience working with children. The manager proceeded to tell me about what the position entailed, what the salary was and what the training process would be like. I was told during the interview that once my background check went through I would hear back and could begin training. Advice I would give to someone interviewing would be to highlight your experience with children and retail.
