I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at JCPenney in July 2010
Interview
I detailed a wealth of related experience in sales, working with other people in other jobs and industries. I stressed how to get sales, work with customers to the last detail, motivate other associates to learn how to use available resourses to fill up orders, and get sales. I was asked what is my most memorable experience. As a mother I had to say "having children". I did not think fast enought to say something very special. Everyday is special, I thought JC Penney has claimed.
It lasted about 15-20 min. I did not think about asking questions. So, it was somewhat open ended interview.
Easy, got hired in 1 week and was able to start as soon as possible. It was a good process and I liked the people I interviewed with. The culture is off to a positive start.
The interview process begins with an initial screening to review qualifications and experience. Selected candidates then participate in one or more interviews with the hiring team, which may include behavioral and role-specific questions. Final candidates may be asked to complete an assessment or meet with senior stakeholders before a hiring decision is made. Candidates are kept informed throughout the process.
