I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at JCPenney (Ashwaubenon, WI) in June 2013
Interview
I went in for a group interview where we used a game to test our communication and team building skills. Two out of the six girls there were called back for a second interview. I was one of them. In the second interview, it was one-on-one and we went into the stock room where there was a set of clothes and an empty rack and they asked me to organize the clothes onto the rack for display. After that, we went onto the floor and they had another employee act as a customer looking for a business outfit and I had to help them achieve that while the interviewer watched and took notes.

Question 1
How would you organize these clothes onto this rack?
I'm looking for a business outfit, what would you recommend?
Easy, got hired in 1 week and was able to start as soon as possible. It was a good process and I liked the people I interviewed with. The culture is off to a positive start.
The interview process begins with an initial screening to review qualifications and experience. Selected candidates then participate in one or more interviews with the hiring team, which may include behavioral and role-specific questions. Final candidates may be asked to complete an assessment or meet with senior stakeholders before a hiring decision is made. Candidates are kept informed throughout the process.
