I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at JCPenney (Puyallup, WA) in June 2013
Interview
Was called to schedule an interview, met with area supervisor. She interviewed me first. Then I waited in a room while she talked to a manager about me. Then the store manager interviewed me. I was called and offered a position.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How do you handle a customer complaint? Why should we hire you? What are your strengths? What did you do in a previous job? Why do you want to work here? Talked about credit marketing, asked if I felt comfortable asking people to open accounts. Asked me how I would approach a customer to apply for a JCP card.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at JCPenney (Tempe, AZ)
Interview
It was in a very professional and comfortable setting in the store. And it was conducted with the store and salon manager at that location. Both of the managers were kind and professional.
It was a group interview which led to an individual interview with a supervisor. If you pass the first round you have a higher chance of getting hired on for a position
Interview process went smoothly. Asked behavioral questions and situational questions that catered to how you deal with a variety of customer personalities. Also asked about previous employment roles. Offered a job on the first interview.
