Applied online on Saturday and on the following Thursday I received a call from the owner to forward my portfolio. Later on the same day, I received an email from the VP of Creative Services inviting me to an in-person interview the following Monday. Interview was pleasant, VP explained about the company's history, what the role would be like, and followed with a tour of the campus warehouses and offices.
Was told there might be a follow up after the interview with a small exercise. Received a call from the owner a few hours later with an offer of employment, asked for some time to think about it.
Sent an counter-offer the next morning, and received a call from the VP. Didn't really allow much room for negotiation. VP forwarded the skills test as a way for me to determine if the role was a good fit for me, but I declined the offer.
Overall, the experience was very professional and polite. Would've taken the job if they offered fair compensation for the area and type of work.
Good job for graphic designers just starting out or with 4+ years experience under their belt, as they might be more open to higher compensation.
