I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at JM Sorge (Somerville, NJ) in June 2016
Interview
I was called and invited in to interview. I went to their offices about a week later and meet with two employees. I interviewed with each separately and both were very casual. Neither had a formal set of questions in front of them. Both were very nice and seemed happy to be adding new blood to the company.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at JM Sorge (Somerville, NJ)
Interview
I was interviewed by three people. First the VP briefly met with me, asked a few general questions about my background and expectations. Then a low or mid-level Project Manager met with me, which was a lot more relaxed. Finally a Senior Manager met with me. Questions were very straightforward, concerning experience and education. The experience with each person varied slightly, but mostly they wanted to get more information on my work experience and education.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I was asked to demonstrate issues on an ArcGIS generated map. It was meant to test my knowledge of GIS.
There were three interviews. The first was with a senior manager who asked about experience and what I was looking for in the company. The second interview was with an environmental scientist who was better able to divulge what the daily expectations were for the position. The third interview was with another senior manager, who basically asked the same questions as the first one.
