Phone screening was simple and short. I had an excitement for an in-person interview and wanted to meet with the team. My interview started with programming assignment on a white board, which is completely fine - I have been warned about it. People, work atmosphere, office left a good impression, however, an interview was quite intense.

It was not the best experience I had , I've got phone interview scheduled, it supposed to be technical interview but the interviewer was an HR with no idea what is he asking about, after the interview ended - no feedback, no email even they promised to let me know about any result, so I won't spend my time with them anymore.

My interview with JOOR was one of the most positive interview experiences I've had. They replied the day after I submitted my application and were prompt with setting up my first phone call. It was with the recruiter and the director of the team they were hiring for. I can appreciate that I was talking to someone I could potentially be working with, as opposed to the usual HR representative. They gave me a take-home technical assessment, that included QA related questions and a coding portion. They were very flexible in letting me decide which language I could use. After that followed a series of behavioral interviews via video with directors of the other teams. I talked to a total of 6 people, two at a time. Then I came into their office to meet and have lunch with the team, as well as a final interview with the CEO. They also gave me another tech assessment where I had to find bugs in a mini project they created. I was very excited that it wasn't obscure questions about data structures and algorithms! It was clear how much effort they put into their recruitment process and that's always a good sign. They also asked me for 3 references, which they did follow up with, as well as my transcript since I had only been out of college for 2 years. Throughout the whole process JOOR was very patient with me, always willing to work around my schedule. After the interviews they called a few times to check in and further elaborate on the company culture and environment. The main thing that really left an impression on me was how they cared about whether I thought the company was a good fit or not. It was not a one sided conversation where it was constantly me trying to impress them. They had taken into regard my past work experience and made sure I considered the differences and compatibility between the company and I. After a few days they extended an offer and I accepted, very confident and comfortable with the decision.
