Submitted application for regular ISM role, since I thought I was overqualified for it (7+ years experience) and underqualified for the digital ISM (10+). Both are VP 603 positions. Was my second time applying. Recruiter reached out to me quickly and suggested I apply for Digital ISM right away. I declined because of the mention of AI/ML (not my wheelhouse). I interviewed four times for ISM before washing out with an Executive Director due to lack of executive communication (rambling).
Excellent recruiter shunted my application over to digital ISM, because the hiring manager couldn't find sufficiently technical people and my regular ISM feedback was very strong technically, and weak to moderate on communication. I listened to my recruiter's feedback and kept to 'executive communication' in those rounds. Thank you to the Digital ISM hiring manager for taking the chance to interview a washout.
Four more interviews later, I accepted an offer.
The interview process is long and JPMC is currently in the middle of switching ATS, so was full of glitches towards the end.
