      Personal Banker Interview

      29 June 2010
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Tampa, FL
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at JPMorganChase (Tampa, FL) in Jan 2010

      Interview

After speaking to representatives from JP Morgan Chase at a college recruitment/Informational, I quickly went online and submitted my resume online at Chase Jobs Online. I was required to complete an assessment test which consisted of basic math and personality questions. A week or so later I was called in for an interview with the Vice President of Retail Banking. I looked sharp and felt confident going in but felt that I could have had a better interview. I was a little stumped when he asked me a situational question on how I would approach a customer who just walked in the bank in order to get him/her to take advantage of the banking products that Chase has to offer. I felt as though I missed a greatr opportunity. Four weeks later, I was called by the secretary who had set up my first interview. She had asked me to come in for a second interview. I was thrilled! And I was sure to be better prepared for the second interview. Again I walked in confident and sharp and was interviewed by two branch managers who had branch locations within the nearby area. They were very friendly and mostly asked me personality and situational questions. I must say so myself, I feel as though I nailed this interview. I was clear, concise and thorough in my delivery and in my answers. I had both interviewers laughing and engaged in the conversation. It was a real pleasure on both ends. I thought for sure I would be offered the job. Unfortunately, however, I did not receive a phone call. I was surprised but more disappointed than anything else. Perhaps they were looking for someone with more banking experience. Either way I refuse to give up on this company and this position. I feel very confident that I can make a great living as a personal banker and make a difference in the financial lives of many. I'll keep trying till I get it.
