      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at JPMorganChase (Country Club Hills, IL) in Feb 2011

      Interview

After submitting my resume online for a teller position 9hours later, I was called to come in for an interview. It took the assistant branch manager some time before he started interviewing me, the bank was kind of busy and he was assisting customers. Finally, he interviewed me, asked about my past, and present (why was I unemployed), and ask about my future (why did I want a teller position and I've never worked in a bank). He asked about my education, my past work experience, and then started the behavioral questions. Tell me about a time when you had an angry customer, what would you do if, how would you handle...... He was extremely impressed and was ready for the 2nd part of the interview, to interview with the branch manager. She came into the room, very confident, a very young lady, and was excited to interview me, it gave me more confidence. She told me her assistant had a lot of good things to say, and she started her part of the interview. She asked about my past, present and where I see myself in 5 years. She told me about the teller position (work 35 hours a week, and what the responsibilities were), then she asked me to sell her a bank product. We role played and she was impressed, so impressed she told me I was over qualified. She referred me to a personal banker position. She told me to take the personal banker on-line assessment and we will go from there. I got home, filled the on-line application out for a personal banker and it was a 45 question un-timed assessment. The questions were all math, percents, and time value. I failed. I called to get my results and the branch manager told me I failed the test and that was it. I asked if I could get the position of teller that I initially applied for and she declined, she told me I was over qualified and she know's I wouldn't be happy as a teller and I would quit. That was it.

      Interview

The interviewer asks a bunch of situational questions that try to test your critical thinking skills, but it's a challenge especially if you don't have much on the job experience.

      Interview

Straightforward. Calm. Very congenial. Nice people smart and honest. Would definitely consider working here given the caliber of talent. Quantitative questions werent too difficult. Just some math like addition subtraction multiplication division and quadratic equations.

It was over the phone. They have you chose a time to set your interview and then you wait for your scheduled time and they will call you. It's a pretty quick interview lasted maybe 20 minutes.
