      IT Project Manager Interview

      3 May 2011
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at JPMorganChase (Chicago, IL) in Apr 2011

      Interview

I was interviewed for an IT Manager position at JP Morgan Chase's office in Chicago. My interview was scheduled on a Friday afternoon at 4pm, what I thought was a very unusual time for an interview. The interview started as a 1:1 interview with one of the group VPs and about 5 minutes after the interview began, the director of the group showed up. We were sitting at a long conference room table. The interviewers ended up sitting about 4 chairs apart, so making eye contact with each person was extremely difficult. I ended up looking and speaking to the person that asked me the question, as opposed to both people, which gave the interview an air of two 1:1 interviews at the same time. The office was a standard corporate office in a high-rise that had a very nice view of the Chicago River and city, but from what I could see, the office was set up in the standard cubicle format. The first thing that jumped out at me was how very quiet the office was. I saw two people talking in the hallway about 10 feet away from me and they seemed to be whispering. The people appeared to be dressed casual, even wearing jeans, but was told that the corporate environment was business casual with very nice jeans allowed only on Fridays.
