I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at JWP (JW Player)
Interview
I did a tech interview over the phone. I was asked to solve a problem in hackerrank. Then I went on site.
One thing I noticed the company is extremely depressing. No one there was smiling. The office is old and very depressing. They don't have a good sun light coverage. The hiring manager, and some engineer had a poker face during the whole interview process. I did not get an offer, and if I've gotten one I was going to reject it.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at JWP (JW Player) in June 2024
Interview
30 minute phone screening with recruiter
1 hour interview w/ eng manager discussing past experience and skills
1 hour coding assessment with an engineer via CodeSignal, starting with a LeetCode easy and then adding slightly more complex requirements to the problem step by step. Ultimately was still a pretty easy coding challenge
Finally, they invited me to do 4 HOURS of panel interviews across two days including sections on pair programming with an engineer on a coding problem, data infrastructure questions, and a "Q&A" presentation about a past project I worked on. Spent a week studying and preparing for this only for them to email me the morning of the interview to say that they filled the position already and were cancelling the whole thing.
Utter waste of time and effort, do not bother with a company that treats its candidates with such blatant disregard

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at JWP (JW Player) in Jan 2018
Interview
Booked a phone interview for two weeks in advance. The day finally arrived, and it has been 10 minutes since I expected a call. When I reached out to JW Player, I was told the role was already filled. Don't waste your time, they don't respect their candidates.
