      Customer Service Sandwich Maker Interview

      3 May 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Phoenix, AZ
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Jimmy John's (Phoenix, AZ) in Aug 2013

      Interview

Upon receiving my application, the manager said to take home recipes for all their sandwiches and memorize them for the interview. He would not offer even minimal info about the job opening, such as shifts available or total hours per week that they might offer. Like most jobseekers, I was looking for some time of range of pay and hours per week. I would not have minded learning all the recipes, but thought it was unprofessional to make someone spend hours learning their routine without first giving some idea of what the opportunity offered. To me it reflected poor use of their time and mine. Consequently, when I was offered another job I accepted- without following up with Jimmie John.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They expect you to learn the recipe for everything on the menu just to interview for the job and would not give out any info about the job opening (such as shifts available) without going through their process. This is a bad use of their time and the applicant's time.
