I applied online. I interviewed at Juniper Creates

      Interview

The Talent Acquisition Specialist was late and offered no apology. They seemed friendly at first, but clearly did not listen or engage during the discussion. You could clearly sense from the beginning of the conversation that this person had no interest in you, and despite doing significant preparation, they were uninterested in hearing about your background. Furthermore, the specialist did not even introduce themselves and displayed a clear sense of impatience from the start. If the position has already been filled or a candidate selected, why waste the interviewee's time? If the role is still open, it is essential to show basic respect to the people you interview.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Why do you want to join Juniper? Why are you leaving your current/previous company? What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
      Answer question

      Interview

They will ask you to do an unpaid assignment/case study (which they estimate will take 8-10 hours) before you meet anyone else on the team. It just feels way too sudden in the process to ask this much from a candidate. The interviewer said they had received many case studies from candidates but none were the right fit, so take that as you will. I had a few other interviews going on so I didn’t feel like wasting time working on the assignment, so I withdrew my application. I will say: For someone that is really excited about the prospect of working here, the culture does sound good. But the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze for me.

Hi- Thank you for sharing your perspective. We understand our process isn’t for everyone, and it’s fair to decide it wasn’t the right fit for you. That said, we’re glad you noted our culture. We’re proud of the team and environment we’ve built, and for the right candidates, the effort in the process reflects the caliber of work and community at Juniper. Best, Juniper Creates

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Juniper Creates (Toronto, ON) in Aug 2025

      Interview

Awful experience. Juniper Creates has zero respect for candidates’ time and effort. Every applicant is asked to complete a creative assignment for the very real YouTubers they work with. They downplay the scope (“5–6 hours”), while also pushing you to “go deeper” — in reality, it takes days of unpaid work. After pouring in effort, there’s no meaningful follow-up conversation. Roles are often reposted shortly after, which makes the whole process feel like farming for ideas rather than hiring. This isn’t just my experience — there are multiple reviews describing the exact same issues. The company responds publicly saying they “take feedback seriously,” but nothing changes. They defend the assignments as part of the role itself — but this is an interview process, not the job. Candidates aren’t being paid, aren’t being engaged afterwards, and it raises real questions about how many unpaid presentations, campaigns, and ideas the company has collected. Bottom line: This is a ridiculous, exploitative way to hire people.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We know assignments require significant effort. Where we have reliable data on average project completion times, we share it to give candidates a guideline, but we recognize that individuals may approach the work differently. We also want to be clear that we do meaningfully engage after submissions and provide detailed written feedback to candidates — this is an important part of respecting the effort they put in. Our process is intentionally rigorous because the work we do demands it. Our goal is to keep the process fair, transparent, and respectful of candidates’ time while maintaining the high bar that shapes our culture. Best, Juniper Creates
