K12 Insight Account Executive interview questions

The interview was via phone. The interview seemed very scripted and impersonal. Perhaps the next step is less scripted and more personal. I was not offered the position; I did not make it to the next step.

I did a phone screen, Criteria aptitude test, and a web interview. During my interview I was told by the interviewer that they don’t want to move forward with me because I don’t live in the geographical region of the opening. That’s fine and understandable but I don’t understand why they had me take an aptitude test and interview. They could have easily seen my location on my resume or discussed the location issue on the phone screen Another thing that struck me as odd is that the person that interviewed me said they would rather cover selling in the open territory than hire somebody that wasn’t a perfect fit. It gave me the impression there may be some analysis paralysis when it comes to hiring for this particular role.
