I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at KIPP DC (Washington, DC) in Oct 2013
Interview
My interview process was relatively quick and painless. It involved two phone interviews, an in-person interview and a classroom lesson. The phone interviews were conducted by a headquarters employee who had no direct relation to the school in which they created a position. After two phone interviews, I was invited to DC to teach a sample lesson (lodging and meals not included). The school principal, who chooses the employees in the school, did not even attend the sample lesson until the very last few minutes of the lesson, which was rather disconcerting. Despite the fact that a full-time teacher was in the lesson, the students were unruly. Within a week I was offered the job and was told to start within five days.

Question 1
"What is everything?" This question seemed rather vague.
Applied online, got a phone screen first. Still in process. Looking forward to continuing in the process and figuring it all out but need more information to see if KIPP is a good fit. Hope those in the process come out successful
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at KIPP DC in Feb 2021
Interview
I was contacted within 3 days after application. Did a phone interview that lasted about 30 minutes. Then I had zoom interviews set up with a few of the schools, they lasted about 30mins to an hr as well. General questions about how to handle daily classroom challenges, personal views and values about education, alignment to the community and to the mission.

What are some ways you build relationships with students and their families?
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at KIPP DC (Washington, DC) in Mar 2023
Interview
Straightforward and fast, only 2 rounds. Friendly interviewers but skeptical of the culture overall. I think I'd want to get more insight from current employees and teachers...overall felt a bit torn on my decision
