I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Kaizen Gaming (Porto, Oporto) in Sept 2025
Interview
The interviewer joined the call 25 minutes late, during which I was already waiting. Once the conversation started, the interview was interrupted twice for personal matters, and then wrapped up early due to another scheduled meeting. I did my best to remain patient and understanding, as I know remote work can present unexpected challenges, but overall this gave a poor impression of professionalism.
At the end, my application was declined on the basis of, between others, lacking experience in cross-functional agile teams — which was surprising, given I have over 10 years of daily collaboration across product, design, backend, and frontend in agile environments. This shows lack of commitment and attention during our conversation.
I value respectful and professional processes, and unfortunately this experience did not reflect the standards I would expect from Kaizen Gaming
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Kaizen Gaming in June 2024
Interview
30% of the questions they asked were not related to front-end development, and their hiring process lacked a clear structure, focusing too much on algorithms that aren't relevant to the actual job. Despite solving the problems, there was no guarantee of a job offer for that seniority. They didn't respond for over a week, then told me I was a strong mid-level candidate instead of senior, and offered me less money than I'm currently making. It was quite disappointing, especially since the 2.5 hours spent on the interview were not compensated.

Interview
Classic interview process at first but the technical interview was ridiculous.
The guy who was interviewing me was typing furiously on the keyboard and didn't show any interest at all from the beginning of the interview. He was just throwing questions and algorithm problems at me and didn't care at all about my thought process or what I was saying and just kept on typing at his keyboard.
A couple days after they called to say they were thrilled and we booked a final interview. One hour before the booked interview time they called to say they have to cancel due to "time availability".
Didn't hear from them again, not even an email.
